Grand Opening Ceremony 2019

At 4:00pm on November 23rd, celebrate the Grand Opening of this year's 19th annual Mercedes-Benz Denver Christkindl Market, hosted by the German American Chamber of Commerce – Colorado Chapter.

Located at Skyline Park on 16th Street Mall and Arapahoe Street in Downtown Denver, the Christkindl Market represents a space for the community to revel in the merry atmosphere of the winter holidays.

Opening Ceremony

The Grand Opening Ceremony will begin with an introduction by Nicole Brady of Denver 7. Adorned with white dress and golden curls, the Christkind will recite her story, originally translated from German, to welcome all visitors to the market. The Christkind is the traditional Christmas gift-bearer in parts of Germany, Austria, and other European countries, and has long been the symbol of our Christkindl Market. An official address by William Reed, Executive Director of GACC-CO, will officially mark the opening of the market!

Evening Entertainment

The evening's entertainment begins with the traditional tapping of the keg, followed by performances fom the Denver Philharmonic, partner orchestra of the Bavarian Philharmonic, and the Denver Gay Man’s Chorus. Celebrate the start of the holiday season with a refreshing beer, warm Glühwein, or hot cocoa, accompanied by a delicious meal from our vendors.
