Delegation Trip to Germany: Water and Environmental Technology

The German Water Partnership is conducting a delegation trip to Bavaria (specifically, the City and County of Hof) from July 24-27, 2023 on behalf of Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI) on the topic of water and environmental technology. The primary focus is on drinking water supply and wastewater technology, sustainable water management as well as water analytics and state- of- the- art solutions for stormwater events like sponge city and sponge region concepts. The delegation trip is aimed in particular at U.S. decision makers from companies in the above-mentioned sectors who have a fundamental interest in expanding and investing in Germany. 

The Target Region in Germany:

The region (Hofer Land) is officially Bavaria's Water Competence Center, with institutions and companies such as the Institute for Water and Energy Management/Hochschule HofRehau industries SE & Co KGSöll GmbH, utp umwelttechnik pöhnl, ZWT Engineering and Wilo SE. With the settlement of the Bavarian State Office for the Environment in Hof, new opportunities have developed for Hof as a business location. The region has expertise and competence especially in the fields of water and wastewater. In addition to the State office for with its project Technology Transfer Water (TTW), the Hof region is also home to numerous renowned companies and service providers that are internationally active in the field of water and environmental technology. Other important partners in the field of education are the Hof University of Applied Sciences with its environmental engineering course and the Hof School of Environmental Engineering. Numerous congresses and events on this topic take place in Hof, for example, a flagship congress and trade show has been held on the topic of water since 2007.

Delegation Program:

The US participants will be offered a varied and comprehensive program during the four-day inbound delegation trip. This consists of an introduction round followed by a comprehensive briefing on what the Hofer Land has to offer as a region undergoing structural change, the performance of the German and specifically the Bavarian water and wastewater sector with the involvement of qualified experts. The organizers will present the program of the trip to the US participants, provide organizational information and answer questions. Two professional networking events with presentations and informal networking opportunities are further central components of the program. The program is rounded off with a visit to several reference plants and companies in the region that will be tailored to the profiles and interests of the U.S. delegation. There will also be opportunities to explore the art and culture of the county of Hof.
