+1 (312) 585-8346 schneider@gaccmidwest.orgThe first US-Germany Climate and Energy Summit 2022 will be held on September 21-22 in Pittsburgh, PA alongside the Global Clean Energy Action Forum (GCEAF) - a joint convening of the 13th Clean Energy Ministerial and 7th Mission Innovation ministerial.
Germany and the US have entered a partnership aimed at strengthening climate ambition and deepening the countries’ collaboration on policies and sustainable technologies needed to accelerate the transition to a global net-zero future.
The Summit as the flagship event of the US-Germany Climate and Energy Partnership aims to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries and provides a platform for climate and energy experts from government, industry, research, and civil society to exchange ideas and learn from each other’s experiences.
The Summit consists of three separate events taking place at different locations:

Leading Decarbonization Action in the Face of Global Energy Security Challenges
Keynote speakers will give an overview over the current situation in each country, existing challenges, and actions to address them. Following up on that, the panel addresses current challenges of decarbonization efforts, energy security and affordability in both countries in more detail.

Senior officials from both countries will discuss the interdependence of energy security and decarbonization, including through the First Movers Coalition. They will showcase US-German cooperation and talk about how the newly established Climate and Energy Partnership can accelerate climate action and inform global net zero, decarbonization, and energy security discussions.
