Discover Market Opportunities in the U.S. – Join the Technology Showcase!
The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest (AHK USA – Chicago), in cooperation with SBS systems for business solutions and on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), invites you to participate in a funded business delegation to the United States.
This program is part of the Market Entry Program for SMEs and specifically targets small and medium-sized German companies.

Target Group

This delegation is designed for 8 to 12 German companies in the following sectors:
• Machinery and plant engineering for the processing and recovery of critical raw materials
• Machinery and plant engineering for battery cell and pack production and recycling

Rising Opportunities for German Technology Providers in the U.S.

The United States is investing heavily in building its battery value chain—from raw material processing and cell manufacturing to recycling. The goal: to reach an annual capacity of 1,200 GWh by 2030. Nearly 700 GWh of production capacity is currently under construction, with up to ten new battery plants expected to go online this year alone.

Machinery and equipment suppliers play a key role in scaling production—but domestic capabilities fall short of meeting demand. At the same time, the recycling of critical raw materials is gaining importance due to resource scarcity, supply chain risks, and the growing demand for electric vehicles.

What’s in demand? Scalable, automated, and energy-efficient solutions to help offset rising production costs and labor shortages—making this an ideal opportunity for German companies offering competitive, high-tech solutions.

Michigan and Illinois are two of the most important industrial hubs in the U.S.—and key stops on this delegation journey.
