In 2023, GACC Midwest proudly celebrated its 60th anniversary, marking its evolution from its founding in 1963 with Niels Friedrichs as the first Managing Director to a thriving organization with over 60 team members in Chicago and Detroit. The Chicago office, centrally located at 150 N Michigan Ave, serves as a hub for various German-American partners, and its Christkindlmarkets attract over 2 million visitors annually. GACC Midwest continues to foster transatlantic trade and investment, with 93% of surveyed German companies planning to increase their US investments in the next three years. The 60th Anniversary German American Business Awards Gala highlighted this optimism, and the announcement of the German American Apprenticeship & Education Foundation underscored the organization's commitment to expanding high-quality apprenticeship programs, which have already graduated 526 apprentices.
