By rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement in 2021, the US has committed to ambitious climate targets, including decarbonizing the power sector by 2035 and achieving a carbon-neutral economy by 2050. The industrial sector in particular, which accounts for a large share of US greenhouse gas emissions, offers significant potential to achieve these targets through energy efficiency improvements, electrification and decarbonization.
The US Department of Energy has developed an “Industrial Decarbonization Roadmap” to accelerate the reduction of emissions in critical sectors. This transformation opens up market opportunities for German technology providers who can contribute to industrial decarbonization with sustainable solutions. The work examines the technical requirements, the competitive environment and possible market entry strategies for German companies in the areas of energy efficiency and decarbonization, supported by legal and political framework conditions as well as important partnerships and trade fairs.
