Effective April 11, 2025, US Department of Homeland Security began enforcing an updated requirement for non-citizens to register in the U.S, creating an online registration system for noncitizens to comply if not already registered. In addition, USDHS is requiring all non-citizens who are 18 and older to carry “proof of registration” plus a government issued photo ID at all times. Geared specifically for German and American companies employing non-citizens and expatriates living in the United States, this session will help you navigate the requirements and gain a better understanding of your rights.

Our expert speaker, Julie Aponte, Managing Director at J. Aponte & Associates, will provide a comprehensive explanation of these recent policy updates, and how to best inform and advocate for yourself or your employees.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Clarification on Policy: Understanding the updated requirements for non-citizen registration, specifically for visa holders and permanent residents.
  2. Implications for noncitizens: Understand the importance of adhering to these requirements, as well as the possible penalties for non-compliance.
  3. Q&A: Your questions are welcome.
