The German American Business Outlook (GABO) is an annual survey of German-American business relations directed at over 2.500 German subsidiaries in the US assessing current economic developments and trends in transatlantic business.

The German American Business Outlook (GABO) is one of the most important economic indicators of German American business relations. Each year, the German American Chambers of Commerce survey more than 2,500 German subsidiaries in the United States on their views of the US as an investment location.

    The 2018 tax reform as well as a reduction of regulations has had a favorable impact on a broad majority of respondents’ business.

    Companies increasingly focus their growth agenda on mergers and acquisitions (M&A). One out of five participating companies plan to expand their business in 2019 through M&A, up from 8% in 2017 and 11% planned for 2018.
