ChamberBrief 2017: March Edition

Dear Members and Friends,

The impact of the new US administration on transatlantic business is one of the most pressing topics of our community. At last week’s Weltwirtschaftstag and USA Conference, hosted by the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), a panel of top executives discussed the opportunities and challenges of the new administration. The panelists agreed that German companies in the US will continue to grow, but pointed out that important aspects of growth are skilled workers and open borders.

For a detailed outlook of German firms in the US on 2017, read our in-depth brochure  “German American Business Outlook”. To learn more about German business in the US, download “German Business Matters”, a state-by-state analysis of imports, exports and jobs.

US Farmers Explore German Family Farms

Fifteen US farmers traveled to Germany last week as part of our Transatlantic Dialogue - Agricultural Perspectives program, funded through the European Recovery Program. Visiting multiple family farms in Bavaria, participants especially noticed their level of diversification, from multiple crops to bio energy and tourism, as well as their access to high-tech equipment such as high precision tractors and robotic milkers. GACC Midwest is proud to facilitate programs that foster knowledge exchanges between German and US industry experts.
