ChamberBrief 2017: February Edition

Dear Members and Friends,

We'd like to thank those members who have already participated in our member survey. This is your chance to give feedback and get the most out of your membership, so if you haven’t participated yet, please fill out our survey by February, 15. You can also win two tickets to our Midwest SME Forum.

All members should have received their renewal letters in the mail, so please be sure to pay the invoice and enjoy another year of great benefits in our strong German-American business community.

Amidst our ICATT crossing US borders, our success in the US has received some press attention in Germany. Enjoy the read!

German Mittelstand: The Global SME

Network with executives from various industries and hear top panelists speak about current challenges and opportunities of SMEs at our second annual Midwest SME Forum. This all-day conference will feature multiple panels on relevant topics and issues such as driving innovation, employee attraction and retention, international marketing, and growth through M&A. Afterwards we will gather at our Annual Meeting of Members and wish farewell to our longstanding chairman W. David Braun. Register for both events here.

Cluster Innovation: Lightweighting

February brings around the second year of our Transatlantic Cluster Initiative, starting with a Roadshow on Lightweighting Technology. Stopping in Ohio, Michigan and Tennessee, these events will feature representatives from industries closely linked with lightweight materials: automotive, aviation and wind energy. For anyone interested in lightweighting technology, this roadshow is a must-attend event. Register here and join our cluster conversation.

March Luncheon: Corporate Innovation

At our next Business Luncheon on March 1, Andreas Sterk from Etventure will talk about kick starting corporate innovation and outshining competition through digitization. Our monthly luncheons in Suburban Chicago are great opportunities to lunch, learn and network with fellow members and non-members alike. The Future of Family Farmers

This month we are celebrating National Future Farmers of America Week. In mid-March, as part of our Transatlantic Dialogue - Agricultural Perspectives program, GACC Midwest will take 20 US farmers on a Study Trip to Germany on the Future of Family Farms. Exchanging ideas and discussing strategies for family-run farms will be the focus of this informative trip. Find out more about our many events and programs here.

Last but not least, you will find the printed copies of our much anticipated 2016/17 GACC Midwest Report at our upcoming events! Get access to German business, trade and investment information in the Midwest and beyond. We look forward to seeing you soon!
