ChamberBrief 2018: March Edition

Dear Members and Friends,

Spring is in the air and we have exciting news to share: the AHK global network is growing with now 140 offices in 92 countries. Our new GACC West office in San Francisco, previously a branch of GACC New York, is part of the success story: Congratulations!

It has been a pleasure for us and our newly elected board to welcome our members at the 2018 Annual Members Meeting. We enjoyed a great afternoon with our members as we reviewed 2017 and looked at our upcoming activities.

One of those is the key resource for business development in our network: our 2018/19 Membership Directory. We kindly remind you that only members in good standing will be represented in the printed version of this 'Who is Who' of German-American business, so please pay any outstanding 2018 annual membership invoices by Wednesday, March 21, 2018 to secure your entry.

We look forward to our upcoming events and to working with our new member companies.

Enjoy the read!

Your GACC Midwest Team

We were delighted to welcome a very special German guest to our last Business Luncheon: Dr. Stefan Mair, Member of the Executive Board of the BDI, who gave us an insight into the current status and the future of German-American industry relations. Thanks to everyone who attended the Business Luncheon – we hope you had ample opportunity to make valuable connections, and enjoyed the discussion from our distinguished speaker. Register here for the next Business Luncheon on 4/4.

After becoming a registered apprenticeship with the State of Wisconsin, our ICATT apprenticeship team hosted a booth at the 2018 Manufacturing Matters, the premiere event for Wisconsin manufacturers. With almost 500 attendees, it was a productive exchange and our team had the opportunity to network and connect with potential ICATT companies. Contact our team to become a part of our growing network in Wisconsin or beyond.

The first part of our Industry 4.0 Roadshow for the Transatlantic Cluster Initiative took German cluster managers to Ohio, Michigan and Illinois. During roundtables and company visits they had the opportunity to exchange their knowledge and experiences regarding the future of manufacturing. Participate in the second part of our Roadshow and explore cutting-edge developments during a five-day trip throughout Germany.

The national 2018/19 Membership Directory is a key resource for decision-makers in German-American business. We kindly ask our members to:

Attend our 2018 SME Forum to find out how to turn current business challenges into opportunities, network with more than 100 interesting executives from various industries or participate as a speaker in our panels on:

  • Global Workforce Mobility & Visa Regulations
  • Cyber Security or IoT Integration
  • Future Trends in Automotive or Marketing & Branding

Contact us now to join us as a panelist, sponsoring partner, or attendee.

Since more and more German companies are expanding in the US, we are publishing two special publications:

Use the opportunity to position your company as a trusted expert for growing German companies. Please contact us or review our media kits to be featured.
